Akemi Recycling Center, Ltd. (Head Office: Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture, President and CEO: Kazuo Kamagata, hereinafter referred to as "ARC"), which is a consolidated subsidiary of Topy Industries, Ltd. (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Hiromi Ishii, hereinafter referred to as "Topy Industries"), has creceived a letter of appreciation from Central Japan Railway Company (Head office: Nagoya City, Aichi prefecture, Representative Director, President and CEO: Shunsuke Niwa, hereinafter referred as "JR Tokai") on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 as it contributed to the development of metal bat for children made from recycled aluminum used in Tokaido Shinkansen vehicles.
In developing metal bats made from Tokaido Shinkansen recycled aluminum, ARC was in charge of the process of manufacturing the aluminum chipsremoved impurities such as paint from retired Tokaido Shinkansen cars by utilizing Japan's largest shredder, advanced metal sorting equipment, and proprietary technology
This Tokaido Shinkansen recycled aluminum can reduce CO₂ emissions by 97% during manufacturing compared to newly manufactured aluminum, contributing to the reduction of environmental impact.In the future, futher expansion is expected that it will be used as a building material and horizontal recycling in Shinkansen vehicles.
