JK activity (Jishu Kanri Katsudo)

JK activity (Jishu Kanri Katsudo)

JK activity means a circle activity peculiar to the Japanese steel industry that started when the Japan Iron and Steel Federation established an “Autonomous Control Activity Committee” in 1969. This activity is “the activity based on the autonomy of employees”, and therefore, is called JK activity taking the initial letter of J=Jishu and K=Kanri. At Topy Industries, various autonomous improvement activities are performed in small groups every day, and engage in improvement beginning with quality and extending to issues such as cost, productivity, safety, and environmental maintenance. In order to support JK activities in the workplace, various policies including an award system and public presentation of JK activity are in place. The Topy Industries Group 24rd small group activity presentation took place on December, 2012.
