The global economy has been unstable in recent years due to the situation in the Middle East and the stagnation of the Chinese economy, and in Japan, unpredictable exogenous shocks such as rising prices due to the weak yen and the certification fraud issue at an automobile manufacturer are putting downward pressure on corporate earnings. In this harsh environment, the Group has steadily worked to review its business portfolio, carry out structural reforms, and optimize sales prices to strengthen its earnings base, but the outlook is expected to remain uncertain through 2025.

In order for the Group to achieve sustainable growth in this business environment, we must develop a business that can flexibly respond to change and develop a corporate structure that can constantly create new things and generate added value. To achieve this, it is important to stimulate exchanges that go beyond the boundaries of departments and organizations and to take on the challenge of developing new products and technologies.

This year is the final year of Medium-Term Management Plan "TOPY Active & Challenge 2025". Due to changes in the business environment, profits have deteriorated more than initially expected, and we are in a tough situation. However, in order to build a company structure that will grow sustainably, technological progress and business expansion cannot be expected just by improving the business environment. Let's expand our range of high-value-added products by improving quality, pursue high profit margins through low cost and high productivity, and contribute to society by building a recycling-oriented business.
For us to continue to grow, each and every one of us must "imagine" what we want to be, continue to make efforts to improve our ability to identify issues, and then carefully "prepare" for those issues and ensure their realization.
