Toyokawa Plant of Topy Industries Ltd. (Head office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Hiromi Ishii; hereinafter referred to as "Topy Industries") has received the "Chubu Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry Award for Excellent Energy Management Businesses" sponsored by the Chubu Regional Electricity Use Rationalization Committee of the Chubu Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry. This award is a system that recognizes factories and businesses that have made outstanding achievements in energy management, with the aim of promoting the spread of energy management in the Chubu region. The award is implemented with the aim of honoring model businesses and spreading awareness of the importance of energy management.
Topy Industries has been carrying out company-wide energy conservation activities since fiscal 2016, centering on Energy Conservation Meisters (energy managers), to raise energy conservation awareness in each workplace and reduce energy consumption while maintaining productivity. At Toyokawa Plant, an "Energy Conservation Meeting" is held every month to manage progress, and information is shared by holding Energy Conservation Meister meetings with other factories.
Based on the efforts of the company-wide Energy Saving Meisters, Toyokawa Plant utilizes an "Energy Visualization System" to perform power demand simulations according to the factory's operating status, and has achieved a reduction in contracted power by leveling out peak power. Furthermore, for the compressor, which consumes the most power at the factory, the factory has improved the air-driven booster valve and replaced it with a booster compressor, reducing air consumption by 30% and reducing power consumption, which was comprehensively evaluated.
Topy Industries has set the goal of creating a sustainable and prosperous society by 2050 under the TOPY Sustainable Green Vision 2050, and has positioned the promotion of digital transformation as one of its key management strategies to realize this vision and achieve sustainable growth. Going forward, the company will continue to work to further advance its smart factory transformation through various measures that utilize digital data, and strive to improve its corporate value through the promotion of digital transformation.
