We introduce some of the technologies developed by Topy Industries.

Optimal design and manufacturing technology for steel wheels

Steel wheels are required to be lightweight and highly designed. To meet these needs, we have developed a geometry optimization system. By developing a series of systems, from the setting of shape and dimensions to the subsequent molding analysis and various strength evaluations, we are now able to efficiently obtain excellent products. These technologies are actively used in new product development and contribute to shortening the development period.

Aluminum wheel casting conditions, strength analysis system

As a result of the diversification of Aluminum wheel designs, the shape of the product has become more complex, and high casting quality is required. In order to deal with this, we are researching a solidification analysis system and trying to set the optimum casting conditions.
There is also a strong demand for lighter weight Aluminum wheel. In the past, development was done by repeating product prototyping and strength testing, which required a long development period. In order to shorten this development period, we developed an FEM analysis system that analyzes the stress and strain of each part of the wheel at the design drawing stage and predicts the strength.

TOPY CORMILL SYSTEM

This is Topy Industries' unique 3D rigid plastic FEM rolling analysis system, which is an improvement of the CORMILL SYSTEM developed by Associate Professor (currently Professor) Yanagimoto of Technology Research Center, the University of Tokyo.
In the past, groove design was done through model experiments using clay and lead, but with this system, it is now possible to analyze general section steel products as well as asymmetric deformed section steel products that are difficult to roll. It greatly contributes to shortening the design and development period for new rolls, improving the quality of existing rolled products, and reducing costs.
