Topy Industries, Ltd. (Head office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hiromi Ishii; hereinafter referred to as "Topy Industries") is pleased to announce that for the third consecutive year, it will sponsor the "6th National College of Technology Deep Learning Contest 2025 (hereinafter referred to as "DCON2025")," a business contest to be held on May 9th and 10th, 2025, in which students of technical colleges (hereinafter referred to as "Technical College Students") will take on the challenge of solving social issues using "Manufacturing Technology x AI (Artificial Intelligence) x Business Potential."
DCON2025 is a contest sponsored by the National Institute of Technology and the Japan Deep Learning Association, in which technical college students propose business plans that utilize the "manufacturing technology" and "deep learning" cultivated on a daily basis, and compete for the valuation of companies. We have been sponsoring the project since 2023 because we believe that the fact that technical college students compete to create products and services that create new value from the fusion of deep learning and hardware is in line with the concept of manufacturing of "integrated production from materials to products," which is a characteristic of the Topy Industry Group.
The Topy Industries Group has positioned the promotion of DX as one of its important management strategies, and was certified as a "DX-Ready" business by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in June 2022, and renewed the certification in June 2024. The Group is also strategically promoting DX, including planning to train approximately 600 staff-level employees as DX personnel by the end of fiscal year 2025. The Topy Industries Group has grown while expanding globally by providing products and services that meet the needs of customers and society, based on its high technical capabilities and integrated production system of "producing and making full use of steel." Going forward, the Group will continue to maximize the strengths and management resources it has cultivated to date, work to solve social issues, and create social value, thereby achieving sustainable growth.
