Toyohashi Plant is a complex business site consisting of three divisions Steel Division (steel materials), Undercarriage Components Division (undercarriage parts for construction machinery), and Business Development Strategy Center.
Environmental management activities are also characterized by incorporating these three widely different divisions into one system. In addition, Steel Division belongs to Non-Integrated Steel Producers' Association, and Toyohashi Plant Works acquired ISO 14001 certification (April 1999), which was the first in the industry.

 

Basic environmental guidelines

我々は、スクラップ及び関連の天然資源を用い加工金属製品並びに非金属鉱物製品を生産して社会に還元するというリサイクル活動を行う一方、CO_{2}を排出し、環境負荷を伴う活動を行っていることを自覚し、地域環境及び地球環境の保全を通じてサスティナブル社会の実現に貢献していく。

Behavioral guidelines

  1. Continuously improve our environmental management system to improve our overall environmental performance.
  2. Strive to achieve carbon neutrality through more efficient use of energy, utilization of optimal technology, rationalization of manufacturing processes, more efficient transportation, introduction of renewable energy, etc.
  3. Contribute to the realization of recycling-based society through the reduction of waste generation, the effective use of resources and by-products, and the expansion of recycling.
  4. Strive to reduce environmental impact through the improvement of processes and equipment, and the design and development of environmentally friendly products.
  5. In order to maintain and survive Mikawa Bay, where Toyohashi Plant is located, and the surrounding natural environment, we will engage in a wide range of environmental activities, such as participating in and communicating with the local community in environmental conservation activities, and strive to coexist with the local community.
  6. Comply with environmental laws and regulations related to the activities, products and services of Toyohashi Plant, self-regulations by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation, and other requirements such as agreements with local communities.
  7. All departments within the environmental management system of Toyohashi Plant will set environmental targets and promote environmental improvement activities. In addition, we will periodically review these environmental targets and revise them as necessary.
  8. Through environmental education, in-house publicity activities, and community exchange activities, we aim to improve the understanding and awareness of the environment among all those working at Toyohashi Plant. This environmental policy will be disclosed both inside and outside the company.
